Summary
Promoting social and emotional competence of children is one of the five Strengthening Families Protective Factors. It is an intentional focus on family, teacher, and child interactions that help children develop the ability to communicate clearly, recognize and regulate their emotions and establish and maintain relationships.
Participants will get a brief overview of all five protective factors then a panel of grassroot and grass top leaders will share their perspectives about promoting social and emotional competence of children at home, at school, and in the community.
